MISERY SIGNALS Begins Recording New Album
February 6, 2013Wisconsin post-hardcore act MISERY SIGNALS has entered Trax East Recording Studio in South River, New Jersey begin recording its fourth album.
MISERY SIGNALS lead singer Karl Schubach previously stated about the group's new material: "I think every band aims to progress with each album they write. But sometimes progression is learning what worked really well the previous records and incorporating those elements. So far these new songs feel like a purposeful blend of our most recent, more structured 'Controller' record mixed with the chaos and spontaneity of the earlier 'Of Malice And The Magnum Heart'."
MISERY SIGNALS blends math rock tropes like tricky time signature shifts and twiddy guitar parts with strained aggression and sore throat vocals of screamo, creating a sound with more emotional heft than the former yet that is also less monochromatic than the latter.
"Controller", the third full-length album from MISERY SIGNALS, sold around 2,900 copies in the United States in its first week of release back in July 2008. The CD was recorded with producer Devin Townsend (STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, DARKEST HOUR, SOILWORK) and was the group's second to feature Schubach.
